Enthusiasm and confidence shone through an original Grovelhaze production

It was great to see the enthusiasm and confidence with which the Year 5 children acted, sang and danced their way through the twists and turns of some classic Grimms fairy tales.

Unfortunately, the children were forced to entertain evil Dukes Barnes and Birch (aka Year 5 teachers Mr Barnes and Mr Birch), after losing themselves in the parallel world Grovelhaze … who knew there was a secret passage in the woods? Luckily, a dash of some modified lyrics to classic 70s and 80s tunes (complete with shoulder shimming and ‘the worm’) alongside some ingenious plotting from the children, ejected the Dukes forever more!

Lines were delivered with excellent clarity and expression, with every child having multiple moments to shine; many juggled several parts. The enjoyment of both the children and audience was clear to behold; the buzz from all electric!

Well done to all of the Year 5 thespians and a big thank you to everyone who was involved in supporting the production.
