Pre-Prep celebrate the harvest with a special assembly

Pre-Prep celebrate the harvest with a special assembly

PrePrep General

The audience were transfixed as the Pre-Prep performed a special assembly to celebrate Harvest.  The children clearly enjoyed performing their pieces - in particular, singing the songs that have been learning with Mr Birch in their music lessons.

The Nursery children started the proceedings by delighting the audience as they all got on board a Hazlegrove minibus to act out the story of ‘The Pumpkin Patch’ and looked adorable with special squirrel tails on to sing ‘Grey Squirrel’.  The Reception class followed with their harvest poem and a performance of ‘The Farmer’s in the dell’ with more and more characters joining the farmer in the dell as the song progressed!

Year 1 and 2 have been learning their dances separately with Mrs Arnold in their dance lessons and put them together, dancing with great focus for the assembly.

Some Year 2 children read prayers before we ended our assembly with the whole Pre-Prep singing together.  It really was a very fitting celebration.

Thank you for all the wonderful harvest contributions that decorated the theatre for the Assembly.  These were put on sale in the band stand at home time to raise money for the charity Mary’s Meals.
