Hazlegrove win the Schools National Show Jumping Championships
On Thursday 18 April Hazlegrove won the Schools National Show Jumping Championships - a fantastic achievement.
Wednesday 17 April saw the team head up to Buckingham, close to Leighton Buzzard, to jump in the warm up class with Hazlegrove individuals finishing 2nd, 4th, 8th and 18th out of 90 riders.
On Thursday morning, after a night sleeping in lorries and a 6am start to plait ponies the children jumped in the 75cm class first in an outside ring and then in the indoor ring. Hazlegrove were brilliant and really fired up. The children jumped amazingly - clear and very fast. All 120 competitors in the class represented schools from across the UK and had to have won their county championships (an achievement in itself).
Hazlegrove won the 75cm class overall, were the fastest team and were the only team to finish on a zero score. The team also achieved third place in the 85cm class.
On Friday, Emily W won the 95cm class as an individual - an amazing achievement. The two individuals who had the fastest times in each class were then selected to represent England in October - both Josh C and Emily W have been selected.
