#MusicCan bring us together

We were fortunate enough to have a visit from Alexia Quin the Director of the charity Music as Therapy. Alexia took a whole school assembly to thank our pupils for all their hard work in raising over £1,000 for Music as Therapy.

It was wonderful for us to see where and how far our money can help especially in war torn countries where playing music has become integral to the development and happiness of the families struggling because they are not as fortunate as us.

We also joined the campaign #MusicCan to help raise awareness for the benefits that music offers in terms of life enhancing experiences all over the world including in the South West of England in our local community.

Alexia also astounded us with her currency conversions on the money we had raised and how it could help in countries such as India, Palestine and the Far East – the children were thoroughly impressed. Part of our contribution will help train local people using simple music therapy techniques and musical activities including providing them with resources and professional support.

We look forward to supporting Music as Therapy for another year here at Hazlegrove!
