Sport and Swimming

Sport is an integral part of the school day at Hazlegrove for all pupils from the Nursery to Year 8. Nursery and Reception children receive a PE lesson and a swimming lesson each week. In Year 1 and 2 the children have two hours of PE/Games and a swimming lesson each week

In the Pre-Prep, all children, including Nursery, have weekly swimming lessons in our fantastic, on-site 25 metre indoor swimming pool.

In Nursery, the sessions are focused on developing children’s water confidence for which the children receive badges and certificates, and safety whilst in Reception and Key Stage 1, the children learn specific strokes and swimming skills.  In additional, an after-school swimming club is available as an optional extra from Year 1.
